Billing / Records

Washington County Ambulance Services complies with all federal HIPAA requirements. We work with most insurance companies for patient claims.

Our billing office staff are Certified Billing Coders.

If you have questions about a claim or payment, please call our District 1 Station at 319-653-2047 and ask to speak with a member of our billing department.  Our Billing office is available Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm. Our Billing office is closed on Holidays and weekends.

To make accessing your account or claim easier, please have the following information ready:

  • Patients Name
  • Patients Date of Birth
  • Date of Ambulance Service
  • Insurance information

Patient Care Records are available following the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).  If you are the patient and would like a copy of your Patient Care Report, you may obtain a copy at our District 1 Base Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm.  Our records office is closed on holidays and weekends. 

If you are not the patient or legal representative, a Release of Information form will need to be completed and signed by the patient following federal HIPAA laws prior to the release of any protected patient information.  

All Patient Care Reports should be completed & available for request 72 hours after the time of ambulance service.
