Standby / Special Event
Washington County Ambulance Services provides Event & Medical Standby Services. These events can include: Sporting and athletic events, large gatherings, Community Events, Concerts, Escorts, Fairs, Business Training, Fire or Law Enforcement Training and more.
Both guaranteed ALS and BLS level standby's can be scheduled. We offer both Ambulance and a Medical ATV depending on needs/request.
A Committed Standby is when a customer requests a committed ambulance crew or providers to come to their event and standby for emergencies. The ambulance is dedicated to your event for the pre-scheduled amount of time. WCAS will charge the event organizers (unless your organization is exempt from this) a fee for this service and all patients transported are billed the normal established transport rates. To reserve an EMS for your event or if you would like more information please contact us at 319-653-2047.
A Non-Committed Standby is when a customer requests a paramedic ambulance crew to cover an event and standby for emergencies, but the ambulance is NOT committed to the event. WCAS will notify on duty crews that the event is occurring and relevant information. In the event of a medical call, or should the Emergency Medical System become busy, the crew will leave your standby event. A Non-Committed standby does not guarantee a paramedic ambulance crew at your event. There is no charge for a Non-Committed Standby and all patients transported are billed the normal established transport rates. If you would like more information please contact us at 319.653.2047.
