Bonded Contractor Information
A contractor must meet the requirements to install a wastewater system in Washington County per Washington County Code-Chapter 66 as follows:
The Washington County Environmental Health Department will issue a private wastewater disposal contractor’s license, valid for a period of 24 months, provided the applicant:
The Washington County Environmental Health Department will issue a private wastewater disposal contractor’s license, valid for a period of 24 months, provided the applicant:
- Has been credentialed as a Certified Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (CIOWTS) through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and has met the continuing education requirements of such certification
- Has on file with the Washington County Environmental Health Department a $10,000 Bond or Letter of Credit made payable to the Washington County Board of Health (The Bond or Letter of Credit is to be renewed annually, failure to renew the Bond or Letter of Credit will cease all work on private sewage disposal systems within Washington County until the Bond or Letter of Credit is renewed)
- A biennial license fee of $50 shall be paid to the Washington County Environmental Department at time of application
