[ARCHIVED] 220th Street (G36) to be Closed for Bridge Deck Overlay

Washington County has a bridge deck overlay project planned on 220th Street (G36) over a small stream, approximately 0.25 mile east of Nutmeg Avenue.  This project will repair and resurface the bridge deck as well as install new guardrail. Cramer and Associates, Inc. of Grimes, Iowa was awarded the project for $160,840.

Work on the bridge will begin Thursday, May 18, 2017, weather permitting.  With the closing of G36 scheduled for 8:00am, traffic will be detoured around the project through the City of Washington using State Hwy 92/1, 12th Street, and Riverside Road (W61).  Residents are advised to use the designated detour route and to use caution while travelling on the detour.  G36 will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project, which is tentatively scheduled to be completed by mid-July.
